TOKYO, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 hit Japan's northeast region at 11: 30 a.m. Tuesday, said the Japan Meteorological Agency.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. No tsunami warning has been issued.
