28 June, South China – Mass flooding in China has affected some 30 million people across 10 provinces and regions of South China with more heavy rains predicted. Hardest hit provinces are Hunan, Fujian and Jiangxi.
Estimated economic loss is at US$6.3billion. The floods have killed 211 people, left 119 others missing and over 2.4 million people evacuated to safety as of 4pm of 23 June, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
