Moderate earthquake jolts southern Taiwan

BEIJING/TAIPEI, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter Scale hit the border area of Taiwan's Tainan County and Chiayi County at 9:01 p.m. Beijing Time Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
